Rabbit anti-Human K-Cadherin (CDH6) Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against K-Cadherin (CDH6) was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-250 of human K-Cadherin (K-Cadherin (CDH6)) (NP_004923.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P55285

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    CDH6

  • Target Full Name

    Cadherin-6

  • Target Function

Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Highly expressed in brain, cerebellum, and kidney. Lung, pancreas, and gastric mucosa show a weak expression. Also expressed in certain liver and kidney carcinomas.

  • Target Synonyms

    CDH6; Cadherin-6; Kidney cadherin; K-cadherin

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a member of the cadherin superfamily. Cadherins are membrane glycoproteins that mediate homophilic cell-cell adhesion and play critical roles in cell differentiation and morphogenesis. The encoded protein is a type II cadherin and may play a role in kidney development as well as endometrium and placenta formation. Decreased expression of this gene may be associated with tumor growth and metastasis.
