The antibody against KAL1 was raised in Rabbit using a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 200-300 of human KAL1 (NP_000207.2) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Target Name
ANOS1
Target Full Name
Anosmin-1
Target Function
Has a dual branch-promoting and guidance activity, which may play an important role in the patterning of mitral and tufted cell collaterals to the olfactory cortex. Chemoattractant for fetal olfactory epithelial cells.
Target Involvement
Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism 1 with or without anosmia (HH1)
Target Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Secreted. Note=Proteolytic cleavage may release it from the cell surface into the extracellular space.
Target Tissue Specificity
Expressed in the cerebellum (at protein level).

Target Synonyms
Adhesion molecule-like X-linked; ADMLX; Anosmin-1; HHA; KAL; KAL1; KALIG 1; KALIG1; Kallmann syndrome 1 sequence (anosmin 1); Kallmann syndrome 1 sequence; Kallmann syndrome interval gene 1; Kallmann syndrome protein; KALM; KALM_HUMAN; KMS; OTTHUMP00000022873
Target Background
Mutations in this gene cause the X-linked Kallmann syndrome. The encoded protein is similar in sequence to proteins known to function in neural cell adhesion and axonal migration. In addition, this cell surface protein is N-glycosylated and may have anti-protease activity.
