The antibody against MVD was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-270 of human MVD (NP_002452.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
MVD
Target Full Name
Diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase
Target Function
Catalyzes the ATP dependent decarboxylation of (R)-5-diphosphomevalonate to form isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP). Functions in the mevalonate (MVA) pathway leading to isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP), a key precursor for the biosynthesis of isoprenoids and sterol synthesis.
Target Involvement
Porokeratosis 7, multiple types (POROK7)
Target Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm.
Target Protein Families
Diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase family
Target Tissue Specificity
Expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, lung, liver, brain, pancreas, kidney and placenta.
Target Synonyms
Diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase; FP17780; MDDase; Mevalonate (diphospho) decarboxylase; Mevalonate (diphospho)decarboxylase; Mevalonate pyrophosphate decarboxylase; MPD; Mvd; MVD1_HUMAN
Target Background
The enzyme mevalonate pyrophosphate decarboxylase catalyzes the conversion of mevalonate pyrophosphate into isopentenyl pyrophosphate in one of the early steps in cholesterol biosynthesis. It decarboxylates and dehydrates its substrate while hydrolyzing ATP.
