Rabbit anti-Human PITPNM1 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against PITPNM1 was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Human Membrane-associated phosphatidylinositol transfer protein 1 protein (1-238AA) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, purified by protein G with a purity greater than 95%. This antibody has been validated on ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    O00562

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    PITPNM1

  • Target Full Name

    Membrane-associated phosphatidylinositol transfer protein 1

  • Target Function

Catalyzes the transfer of phosphatidylinositol (PI) between membranes. Binds PI, phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidic acid (PA) with the binding affinity order of PI > PA > PC. Regulates RHOA activity, and plays a role in cytoskeleton remodeling. Necessary for normal completion of cytokinesis. Plays a role in maintaining normal diacylglycerol levels in the Golgi apparatus. Necessary for maintaining the normal structure of the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus. Required for protein export from the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi. Binds calcium ions.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cytoplasm. Golgi apparatus, Golgi stack membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Lipid droplet. Cleavage furrow. Midbody.

  • Target Protein Families

PtdIns transfer protein family, PI transfer class IIA subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

    Ubiquitous.

  • Target Research Area

  • Target Background

PITPNM1 belongs to a family of membrane-associated phosphatidylinositol transfer domain-containing proteins that share homology with the Drosophila retinal degeneration B (rdgB) protein (Ocaka et al., 2005 [PubMed 15627748]).
