The antibody against PNMT was raised in Rabbit using a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 183-282 of human PNMT (P11086) as the immunogen. The monoclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

Target Name
PNMT
Target Full Name
Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase
Target Function
Converts noradrenaline to adrenaline.
Target Protein Families
Class I-like SAM-binding methyltransferase superfamily, NNMT/PNMT/TEMT family
Target Synonyms
Noradrenaline N-methyltransferase; PENT; Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase; PNMT; PNMT_HUMAN; PNMTase
Target Background
The product of this gene catalyzes the last step of the catecholamine biosynthesis pathway, which methylates norepinephrine to form epinephrine (adrenaline). The enzyme also has beta-carboline 2N-methyltransferase activity. This gene is thought to play a key step in regulating epinephrine production. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
