The antibody against PNPO was raised in rabbit using the Recombinant Human Pyridoxine-5\'-phosphate oxidase protein (114-207AA) as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG, purified by protein G with a purity greater than 95%. This antibody has been validated on ELISA, IHC, IF.

Target Name
PNPO
Target Full Name
Pyridoxine-5'-phosphate oxidase
Target Function
Catalyzes the oxidation of either pyridoxine 5'-phosphate (PNP) or pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate (PMP) into pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP).
Target Involvement
Pyridoxine-5'-phosphate oxidase deficiency (PNPOD)
Target Protein Families
Pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate oxidase family
Target Synonyms
EC 1.4.3.5; FLJ10535; PDXPO; PNPO; PNPO_HUMAN; Pyridoxal 5' phosphate synthase; pyridoxamine 5' phosphate oxidase; Pyridoxamine phosphate oxidase ; Pyridoxamine-phosphate oxidase; pyridoxine 5' phosphate oxidase; Pyridoxine-5'-phosphate oxidase
Target Background
The enzyme encoded by this gene catalyzes the terminal, rate-limiting step in the synthesis of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate, also known as vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is a required co-factor for enzymes involved in both homocysteine metabolism and synthesis of neurotransmitters such as catecholamine. Mutations in this gene result in pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate oxidase (PNPO) deficiency, a form of neonatal epileptic encephalopathy.
