The antibody against PRAP1 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-151 of human PRAP1 (NP_660203.3) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Target Name
PRAP1
Target Full Name
Proline-rich acidic protein 1
Target Function
Lipid-binding protein which promotes lipid absorption by facilitating MTTP-mediated lipid transfer (mainly triglycerides and phospholipids) and MTTP-mediated apoB lipoprotein assembly and secretion. Protects the gastrointestinal epithelium from irradiation-induced apoptosis. May play an important role in maintaining normal growth homeostasis in epithelial cells. Involved in p53/TP53-dependent cell survival after DNA damage. May downregulate the expression of MAD1L1 and exert a suppressive role in mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint in hepatocellular carcinomas.
Target Subcellular Location
Secreted. Endoplasmic reticulum.
Target Tissue Specificity
Highly expressed in the intestinal epithelial cells (at protein level). Abundantly expressed in the epithelial cells of the liver, kidney and cervix. Significantly down-regulated in hepatocellular carcinoma and right colon adenocarcinoma compared with the
Target Synonyms
Epididymis tissue protein Li 178; MGC126792; OTTHUMP00000020800; Prap1; PRAP1_HUMAN; PRO1195; Proline rich acidic protein 1 ; Proline-rich acidic protein 1; RP11 122K13.6 ; UNQ608/PRO1195; UPA; Uterine specific proline rich acidic protein ; Uterine specific proline rich acidic protein UPA; Uterine-specific proline-rich acidic protein
Target Background
Predicted to enable triglyceride binding activity. Involved in DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in cell cycle arrest; deactivation of mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint; and negative regulation of apoptotic process. Predicted to be located in endoplasmic reticulum and extracellular region.
