Rabbit anti-Human PTS Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against PTS was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-145 of human PTS (NP_000308.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q03393

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    PTS

  • Target Full Name

    6-pyruvoyl tetrahydrobiopterin synthase

  • Target Function

Involved in the biosynthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin, an essential cofactor of aromatic amino acid hydroxylases. Catalyzes the transformation of 7,8-dihydroneopterin triphosphate into 6-pyruvoyl tetrahydropterin.

  • Target Involvement

    Hyperphenylalaninemia, BH4-deficient, A (HPABH4A)

  • Target Protein Families

    PTPS family

  • Target Synonyms

    PTPS; PTS

  • Target Background

The enzyme encoded by this gene catalyzes the elimination of inorganic triphosphate from dihydroneopterin triphosphate, which is the second and irreversible step in the biosynthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin from GTP. Tetrahydrobiopterin, also known as BH(4), is an essential cofactor and regulator of various enzyme activities, including enzymes involved in serotonin biosynthesis and NO synthase activity. Mutations in this gene result in hyperphenylalaninemia.
