Human
Target Name
RIPK4
Target Full Name
Receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 4
Target Function
Involved in stratified epithelial development. It is a direct transcriptional target of TP63. Plays a role in NF-kappa-B activation.
Target Involvement
Popliteal pterygium syndrome, lethal type (PPS-L)
Target Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm. Membrane; Peripheral membrane protein.
Target Protein Families
Protein kinase superfamily, TKL Ser/Thr protein kinase family
Target Tissue Specificity
Expressed in hair follicles and skin.
Target Synonyms
RIPK4; ANKRD3; DIK; Receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 4; EC 2.7.11.1; Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 3; PKC-delta-interacting protein kinase
Target Background
The protein encoded by this gene is a serine/threonine protein kinase that interacts with protein kinase C-delta. The encoded protein can also activate NFkappaB and is required for keratinocyte differentiation. This kinase undergoes autophosphorylation.
