Target Name
RTCB
Target Full Name
RNA-splicing ligase RtcB homolog
Target Function
Catalytic subunit of the tRNA-splicing ligase complex that acts by directly joining spliced tRNA halves to mature-sized tRNAs by incorporating the precursor-derived splice junction phosphate into the mature tRNA as a canonical 3',5'-phosphodiester. May act as an RNA ligase with broad substrate specificity, and may function toward other RNAs.
Target Subcellular Location
Nucleus. Cytoplasm.
Target Protein Families
RtcB family
Target Synonyms
Ankyrin repeat domain 54; Chromosome 22 open reading frame 28; DJ149A16.6; HSPC117; Hypothetical protein LOC51493; Novel protein HSPC117; OTTHUMP00000028639; RP1-149A16.6; rtcB; RTCB_HUMAN; tRNA-splicing ligase RtcB homolog
Target Background
Enables RNA ligase (ATP) activity and vinculin binding activity. Involved in tRNA splicing, via endonucleolytic cleavage and ligation. Located in cytosol and nucleoplasm. Part of tRNA-splicing ligase complex.
