Rabbit anti-Human SCG3 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against SCG3 was raised in rabbit using the Synthesized peptide derived from the N-terminal region of Human Sg III. as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q8WXD2

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    SCG3

  • Target Full Name

    Secretogranin-3

  • Target Function

Member of the granin protein family that regulates the biogenesis of secretory granules. Acts as a sorting receptor for intragranular proteins including chromogranin A/CHGA. May also play a role in angiogenesis. Promotes endothelial proliferation, migration and tube formation through MEK/ERK signaling pathway.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle. Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Secreted.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Expressed in brain, heart, kidney, liver and skeletal muscle.

  • Target Synonyms

    1B1075; AI385542; Chgd; SCG3; SCG3_HUMAN; Secretogranin III; Secretogranin-3; SGCG; SgIII

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. Granins may serve as precursors for biologically active peptides. Some granins have been shown to function as helper proteins in sorting and proteolytic processing of prohormones; however, the function of this protein is unknown. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
