Rabbit anti-Human SEC13 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against SEC13 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-322 of human SEC13 (NP_899195.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P55735

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    SEC13

  • Target Full Name

    Protein SEC13 homolog

  • Target Function

Functions as a component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) and the COPII coat. At the endoplasmic reticulum, SEC13 is involved in the biogenesis of COPII-coated vesicles. Required for the exit of adipsin (CFD/ADN), an adipocyte-secreted protein from the endoplasmic reticulum.; As a component of the GATOR subcomplex GATOR2, functions within the amino acid-sensing branch of the TORC1 signaling pathway. Indirectly activates mTORC1 and the TORC1 signaling pathway through the inhibition of the GATOR1 subcomplex. It is negatively regulated by the upstream amino acid sensors SESN2 and CASTOR1.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Cytoplasmic vesicle, COPII-coated vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Nucleus, nuclear pore complex. Lysosome membrane.

  • Target Protein Families

    WD repeat SEC13 family

  • Target Synonyms

    D3S1231E; Npp 20; Npp20; Protein SEC13 homolog; SEC13 (S. cerevisiae) like 1; Sec13; SEC13 homolog (S. cerevisiae); SEC13 homolog; SEC13 like 1 (S. cerevisiae); SEC13 like 1 isoform; SEC13 like protein 1; SEC13 protein; SEC13 related protein; SEC13-like protein 1; SEC13-related protein; SEC13_HUMAN; SEC13R

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the SEC13 family of WD-repeat proteins. It is a constituent of the endoplasmic reticulum and the nuclear pore complex. It has similarity to the yeast SEC13 protein, which is required for vesicle biogenesis from endoplasmic reticulum during the transport of proteins. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found.
