Rabbit anti-Human SMO Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against SMO was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 28-233 of human SMO (NP_005622.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Uniprot IDQ99835Immunogen Sequence
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q99835

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    SMO

  • Target Full Name

    Protein smoothened

  • Target Function

G protein-coupled receptor that probably associates with the patched protein (PTCH) to transduce the hedgehog's proteins signal. Binding of sonic hedgehog (SHH) to its receptor patched is thought to prevent normal inhibition by patched of smoothened (SMO). Required for the accumulation of KIF7, GLI2 and GLI3 in the cilia. Interacts with DLG5 at the ciliary base to induce the accumulation of KIF7 and GLI2 at the ciliary tip for GLI2 activation.

  • Target Involvement

    Curry-Jones syndrome (CRJS)

  • Target Subcellular Location

Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell projection, cilium.

  • Target Protein Families

    G-protein coupled receptor Fz/Smo family

  • Target Synonyms

SMO; SMOH; Smoothened homolog; SMO; Protein Gx

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a G protein-coupled receptor that interacts with the patched protein, a receptor for hedgehog proteins. The encoded protein tranduces signals to other proteins after activation by a hedgehog protein/patched protein complex.
