Rabbit anti-Human STK33 Monoclonal Antibody

The antibody against STK33 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 399-514 of human STK33 (Q9BYT3) as the immunogen. The monoclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IF/ICC, ELISA.

    Human

  • Target Name

    STK33

  • Target Full Name

    Serine/threonine-protein kinase 33

  • Target Function

Serine/threonine protein kinase which phosphorylates VIME. May play a specific role in the dynamic behavior of the intermediate filament cytoskeleton by phosphorylation of VIME. Not essential for the survival of KRAS-dependent AML cell lines.

  • Target Subcellular Location

    Cytoplasm, perinuclear region.

  • Target Protein Families

Protein kinase superfamily, CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family, CaMK subfamily

  • Target Tissue Specificity

Highly expressed in testis, fetal lung and heart, followed by pituitary gland, kidney, interventricular septum, pancreas, heart, trachea, thyroid gland and uterus. Weak hybridization signals were observed in the following tissues: amygdala, aorta, esophag

  • Target Background

Serine/threonine protein kinase (STK33) is a 524-residue kinase that belongs to the calcium/calmodulin-dependent family of kinases. STK33 exhibits differential expression in normal and malignant cancer tissue, including hepatocellular carcinoma. STK33 expression is required in the context of mutant KRAS, the most commonly mutated human oncogene, to maintain for cellular viability and proliferation. STK33 depletion via modulation of interacting proteins results in proteasome-mediated degradation of STK33 in human cancer cells, triggering apoptosis.
