Rabbit anti-Human TFPI Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against TFPI was raised in rabbit using the Synthesized peptide derived from the C-terminal region of Human TFPI. as the immunogen. This antibody exists as a non-conjugated isotype IgG. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody has been validated on WB, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P10646

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    TFPI

  • Target Full Name

    Tissue factor pathway inhibitor

  • Target Function

Inhibits factor X (X(a)) directly and, in a Xa-dependent way, inhibits VIIa/tissue factor activity, presumably by forming a quaternary Xa/LACI/VIIa/TF complex. It possesses an antithrombotic action and also the ability to associate with lipoproteins in plasma.

  • Target Subcellular Location

[Isoform Alpha]: Secreted.; [Isoform Beta]: Microsome membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor.

  • Target Tissue Specificity

    Mostly in endothelial cells.

  • Target Research Area

    Cardiovascular

  • Target Synonyms

Anti convertin; EPI; Extrinsic pathway inhibitor; LACI; Lipoprotein associated coagulation inhibitor; Lipoprotein-associated coagulation inhibitor; TFI; TFPI 1; TFPI; TFPI1; TFPI1_HUMAN; Tissue factor pathway inhibitor (lipoprotein associated coagulation inhibitor); Tissue factor pathway inhibitor

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor that regulates the tissue factor (TF)-dependent pathway of blood coagulation. The coagulation process initiates with the formation of a factor VIIa-TF complex, which proteolytically activates additional proteases (factors IX and X) and ultimately leads to the formation of a fibrin clot. The product of this gene inhibits the activated factor X and VIIa-TF proteases in an autoregulatory loop. Inhibition of the encoded protein restores hemostasis in animal models of hemophilia. This gene encodes multiple protein isoforms that differ in their inhibitory activity, specificity and cellular localization.
