Rabbit anti-Human TNNC2 Polyclonal Antibody

The antibody against TNNC2 was raised in Rabbit using the recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-160 of human TNNC2 (NP_003270.1) as the immunogen. The polyclonal antibody exists as a isotype IgG, by affinity purification. This antibody has been validated on WB, IHC-P, ELISA.

Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    P02585

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    TNNC2

  • Target Full Name

    Troponin C, skeletal muscle

  • Target Function

Troponin is the central regulatory protein of striated muscle contraction. Tn consists of three components: Tn-I which is the inhibitor of actomyosin ATPase, Tn-T which contains the binding site for tropomyosin and Tn-C. The binding of calcium to Tn-C abolishes the inhibitory action of Tn on actin filaments.

  • Target Protein Families

    Troponin C family

  • Target Research Area

    Signal Transduction

  • Target Synonyms

    TNNC2; Troponin C; skeletal muscle

  • Target Background

Troponin (Tn), a key protein complex in the regulation of striated muscle contraction, is composed of 3 subunits. The Tn-I subunit inhibits actomyosin ATPase, the Tn-T subunit binds tropomyosin and Tn-C, while the Tn-C subunit binds calcium and overcomes the inhibitory action of the troponin complex on actin filaments. The protein encoded by this gene is the Tn-C subunit.
