Recombinant Human Bone morphogenetic protein 3B (GDF10)

The recombinant Human GDF10 protein production is achieved through the manipulation of desired gene expression in e.coli cells. The sequence (369-478aa) of foreign DNA is fused to an expression vector and then transformed into e.coli cells. The positive cells are selected and cultured to induce the expression of the desired protein. A N-terminal 10xHis tag is fused to the protein. The recombinant Human GDF10 protein is subjected to affinity purification. Its purity is over 90%, as measured by SDS-PAGE.

  • Target Background

This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. This promotes neural repair after stroke. Additionally, this protein may act as a tumor suppressor and reduced expression of this gene is associated with oral cancer.
