Enhance your neuroscience research with our Recombinant Human GDNF protein, a key player in the maintenance and survival of neuronal cells. Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), encoded by the GDNF gene, is a potent neurotrophic factor involved in the development, differentiation, and protection of various types of neurons, including dopaminergic and motor neurons. The study of GDNF is essential in understanding neurodegenerative diseases and developing potential therapeutic strategies. Our Recombinant Human GDNF protein is expressed in an E.coli system, delivering a full-length mature protein covering the 78-211aa region. This tag-free protein ensures minimal interference with your assays and downstream applications. With a purity greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE, our Recombinant Human GDNF protein offers reliability and consistency for your research endeavors. Available in liquid or lyophilized powder forms, you can choose the format that best suits your laboratory requirements. Trust in our Recombinant Human GDNF protein to propel your neuroscience research forward.

Target Background
This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. The recombinant form of this protein, a highly conserved neurotrophic factor, was shown to promote the survival and differentiation of dopaminergic neurons in culture, and was able to prevent apoptosis of motor neurons induced by axotomy. This protein is a ligand for the product of the RET (rearranged during transfection) protooncogene. Mutations in this gene may be associated with Hirschsprung disease and Tourette syndrome. This gene encodes multiple protein isoforms that may undergo similar proteolytic processing.
