Recombinant Human NF1 protein expression is initiated by transfecting e.coli cells with a DNA expression vector containing the gene encoding the protein of interest (1566-1837aa). The subsequent culturing of the cells induces the expression of the desired protein. The protein is equipped with a N-terminal 10xHis tag and C-terminal Myc tag. The resulting recombinant Human NF1 protein is collected and purified from the cell lysate through affinity purification, demonstrating a purity greater than 85%, as indicated by SDS-PAGE.

Target Function
Stimulates the GTPase activity of Ras. NF1 shows greater affinity for Ras GAP, but lower specific activity. May be a regulator of Ras activity.
Target Involvement
Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1); Leukemia, juvenile myelomonocytic (JMML); Watson syndrome (WTSN); Familial spinal neurofibromatosis (FSNF); Neurofibromatosis-Noonan syndrome (NFNS); Colorectal cancer (CRC)
Target Subcellular Location
Nucleus. Nucleus, nucleolus.
Target Tissue Specificity
Detected in brain, peripheral nerve, lung, colon and muscle.
