Immunogen Information

Target SpeciesHumanUniprot IDQ9Y5M8
Background Information
  • Uniprot Id

    Q9Y5M8

  • Target Species

    Human

  • Target Name

    SRPRB

  • Target Full Name

Signal recognition particle receptor subunit beta

  • Target Function

Component of the SRP (signal recognition particle) receptor. Ensures, in conjunction with the signal recognition particle, the correct targeting of the nascent secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane system. Has GTPase activity. May mediate the membrane association of SRPR.

  • Target Subcellular Location

Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass membrane protein.

  • Target Protein Families

    SRP receptor beta subunit family

  • Target Synonyms

SRPRB; PSEC0230; Signal recognition particle receptor subunit beta; SR-beta; Protein APMCF1

  • Target Background

The protein encoded by this gene has similarity to mouse protein which is a subunit of the signal recognition particle receptor (SR). This subunit is a transmembrane GTPase belonging to the GTPase superfamily. It anchors alpha subunit, a peripheral membrane GTPase, to the ER membrane. SR is required for the cotranslational targeting of both secretory and membrane proteins to the ER membrane.
