A cDNA encoding residues Met1 to Ser320 of the human Transcription cofactor vestigial-like protein 3 (VGLL3) full-length protein was fused with a 6xHis-tag at the N-terminus and then expressed in the yeast.?The forming recombinant protein was validated by SDS-PAGE. Its purity is greater than 90%. On the reducing SDS-PAGE gel, the VGLL3 protein migrated on the molecular mass band of approximately 38 kDa. The slightly higher result is attributed to glycosylation. This recombinant VGLL3 protein can act as the immunogen to produce specific antibodies. Besides, it also may be used in the studies of VGLL3-associated transcription. VGLL3 is a co-activator of mammalian toxicity equivalency factors (TEFs). It has reported participating in the proliferation of sarcoma and breast tumor cells. Studies revealed that VGLL3 expression was positively correlated with poor prognostic outcome in patients with gastric tumor. And gastric tumor with high levels of VGLL3 showed the activation of the MAPK, JAK-STAT, and WNT pathways together with enhanced immune infiltrates.
